Athletic Bands

Athletic Bands consist of the Marching BandPep BandSpring Drumline, Winter Guard, and Scarlet Band.

There are over 200 members on the rosters for all BU Bands ensembles combined, representing every undergraduate school and college on Boston University’s campus. Every ensemble provides fun and exciting ways for non-music majors and music majors alike to have a great band experience while pursuing degrees in their disciplines.

The ensembles within BU Bands perform for over 200,000 people at over 150 events combined each year. In addition to performances on campus, the bands travel often for shows, competitions, and tournaments.

Academics are the top priority for every member of the BU Bands program. All of the ensembles were created with a student’s schedule and vigorous academic commitments in mind. It is easy to achieve at a high academic level while participating in any of the BU Bands ensembles, and most of our members excel academically even during the busiest band seasons.

Please visit the ensembles’ webpages for more information and feel free to contact us by emailing if you have any questions about the program.
