BUSTI students actively participate in all-day classes and rehearsals throughout the week.
On the weekends, students attend Required Core Curriculum Events in support of the training. These events are designed to support student’s learning through visiting local theatrical and artistic institutions for traditional performances, experimental performance art, and multimedia experiences.
Core events from past summers have included performances at ArtsEmerson, Cirque du Soleil, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Broadway in Boston, Puppet Showplace Theatre, and American Repertory Theatre. We have also paid visits to the Institute of Contemporary Art, Museum of Fine Arts, and the MIT Museum. These events are required as part of BUSTI’s curriculum to complement the learning in the classroom, and cannot be missed.
The Teaching Assistants also organize a series of optional activities to introduce students to Boston’s rich history and culture. The New England Aquarium, Boston Pops 4th of July Celebration, the Freedom Trail, movies, restaurants, parks, and beaches are among the recreational offerings that await the summer Bostonian. Access to city sights is as easy as jumping on the “T” (Boston’s public transit system).
