The Effect of Gamma Rays
on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds
By Paul Zindel
Directed by Jim Petosa
Oct. 31 - Nov. 18, 2012
Boston University Theatre, Lane-Comley Studio 210

A portrait of family dysfunction featuring Beatrice Hunsdorfer (played by Paula Langton), a slovenly single mother, and her two teenage daughters, beautiful but troubled Ruth and gifted but shy Matilda. When “Tillie” embarks on a science project focused on radioactive seedlings, the family members are driven to extremes. The story’s shocking climax and poignant conclusion earned Zindel the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Running Time: approximately 2 hours, including one intermission

Opening Night: Thursday, November 1, 7:30pm

Post-Show Talk Back: Sunday, November 4, 2:00pm

"I don't know of a better (play) of its genre since The Glass Menagerie…" —New York Post

"The play itself is one of the lucky blooms; it survives, and is beautiful." —New York Times
