This lecture and conversation will address some of the key issues affecting working artists today. Lise Soskolne of W.A.G.E. (Working Artists and the Greater Economy) and Dushko Petrovich (founder of Adjunct Commuter Weekly) are artists and organizers creatively rethinking the potential agency of artists on an individual and collective scale. They will discuss the myriad struggles facing working artists, including the challenges of juggling adjunct appointments across state lines and the disproportionate demands on artists to work without compensation. This talk is an invitation to face the realities and consider alternatives to working conditions for artists today.
