PRESS RELEASE

Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Visual Arts presents
Triiibe, In Search of Eden: A Work in Progress
808 Gallery, October 27 – December 23, 2010

Boston – The Boston University School of Visual Arts announces the Exhibition Reception for In Search of Eden: A Work in Progress, by the collective TRIIIBE, on Friday, November 19th, 6-9pm in Boston University’s 808 Gallery.

In mid-October, TRIIIBE opened their new exhibition in the 808 Gallery at Boston University as an empty, 11,000 square foot room. Over the past several weeks, the public was invited to explore TRIIIBE’s transformation of the expansive space using photography, painting, sculpture, and performance. The exhibition reception will celebrate In Search of Eden at its mid-point as the project will continue to evolve over the remainder of the exhibition. In Search of Eden runs through December 23, 2010.

As they did earlier this year with their exhibition at Gallery Kayafas, TRIIIBE continues to play with ideas of identity and values, this time in context.  In Search of Eden: A Work in Progress revisits this biblical creation story, the notion of temptation, and our eternal quest for Eden.

TRIIIBE founders Alicia, Kelly and Sara Casilio, and Cary Wolinsky closely collaborated with many artists to create In Search of Eden: A Work in Progress including:

Sheryl Handler, Creative Thinker
Marie Brown, Theatre Director
Nick Doriss, Sculptor
Aison Heryer, Costume designer
Rick Kyle, Photo Retoucher
Babs Wolinsky, Graphic Designer
Lauren Sanders, Designer
Gus Kayafas, Printmaker
Yari Wolinsky, Filmmaker

Boston University is one of the leading private research and teaching institutions in the world today, with two primary campuses in the heart of Boston and programs around the world. The Boston University College of Fine Arts was created in 1954 to bring together the School of Music, the School of Theatre, and the School of Visual Arts. The University’s vision was to create a community of artists in a conservatory-style school offering professional training in the arts to both undergraduate and graduate students, complemented by a liberal arts curriculum for undergraduate students. Since those early days, education at the College of Fine Arts has begun on the BU campus and extended into the city of Boston, a rich center of cultural, artistic and intellectual activity.
