SOM Professor Jeremy Yudkin to deliver the 2010 University Lecture
Musicology Department Chair Professor Jeremy Yudkin has been chosen to deliver the 2010 University Lecture. The university states: “The University Lecture was established in 1950 to honor members of the faculty engaged in outstanding research. It provides an opportunity for all members of the University community — as well as the general public — to meet a distinguished scholar discussing a topic of recognized excellence. The University Lecture is one of Boston University’s oldest traditions and highest honors. Each year the University Lecture Committee reviews nominations, submitted by colleagues from across the University, of distinguished faculty members and selects a colleague to present a lecture of his or her current work. This is the one occasion during the academic year when a faculty member speaks in person to the whole community.” Professor Yudkin will be delivering his lecture in the Tsai Auditorium on Thursday, October 14, at 6:30 pm. His title will be “Not a Note Too Many: Beethoven, McCartney, Miles.” The University Lecture is open to all members of the university and the general public.
