University Teaching Awards

The Metcalf Cup and Prize is awarded to one full-time faculty member of the university based upon the candidate's teaching statement, teaching evaluations, syllabi, and recommendations from faculty peers and students. The Metcalf Prize is presented at the University Commencement Ceremony in May. See the list of previous winners and selection criteria at the Office of the Provost's website.

University Scholar/Teacher of the Year Award recognizes one faculty member per year based upon his/her contribution to learning and the university. It was established by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of The United Methodist Church. The University Scholar/Teacher of the Year Award is bestowed at the New Faculty Orientation ceremony in early September each year.
