In addition to our regular programs, CELOP can customize courses of study, design workshops and arrange partnerships to meet the needs and schedules of schools, institutions, and businesses.

Semester Study Abroad Intensive English Programs

Our Semester Study Abroad Programs combine the strengths of the standard CELOP programs with the benefits of customization. Semester Study Abroad students enroll in CELOP classes along with students from over 60 different countries in courses ranging from 12-week full semester programs to 4-week professional or pre-professional programs during our summer semester. Depending on the specific needs of the home university or organization, Semester Study Abroad Programs may include specialized elective courses, extracurricular events and activities, coursework in other BU departments or centers, individualized counseling, academic advising and logistical support.

  • Waseda University Thematic Study Abroad Program
  • Hosei University Study Abroad Program
  • Kyung Won University (in partnership with BU Global)
  • University of Bologna (in partnership with BU Global)
  • Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM)
  • Fulbright (in partnership with IIE)
  • LG Corporation (in partnership with BU School of Management)

Interim Study Abroad Intensive English Programs

Our Interim Study Abroad Programs provide even greater levels of customization for short-term programs scheduled outside of our standard semester or summer programs. Interim Study Abroad students study in specialized classes designed to meet the specific needs of their home university or organization. Interim Study Abroad Programs typically include a customized curriculum, special events and activities, coursework or connections to other BU departments or community organizations and logistical support.

Professional Development Workshops and Programs

Our Professional Development Workshops and Programs offer professional training both on-site and off-site in ESL/EFL teacher training, business English, legal English, English for health and medical professionals and cross-cultural communication. Workshops may range in length from a half day to two weeks and are designed to meet the needs of professionals at various stages of their careers.
