William Marion

Foreign Student Advisor

As CELOP’s Designated School Official (DSO) and Foreign Student Advisor, William reviews student applications and financial documents. He provides ongoing advising services for students’ visa and immigration needs, issues I-20’s in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), and is responsible for reporting and updating SEVIS information of CELOP students. He also processes student transfers to and from CELOP. William is a member of NAFSA.

William attended the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Monterey, CA where he studied basic German. He earned his BA in International Relations with a minor in Economics from San Francisco State University and also received a graduate certificate in Supply Chain Management from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

Growing up in a military family, William traveled throughout the U.S. and lived in West Germany. As an adult he has also traveled in Western and Central Europe; the Balkans; Canada; Japan; Lebanon and Jordan. William strongly believes that his role at CELOP helps to foster deeper understanding and better relations among members of diverse cultures and backgrounds. He also really admires and strives to emulate Anthony Bourdain during his personal time.
