Patricia Larios arrived in Boston in 2012 and has been teaching at Boston University since then. She teaches Introduction to Reading and Writing to freshmen at Boston University’s College of Arts and Sciences and she works at CELOP teaching different levels and different electives, primarily TOEFL IBT preparation.
Patricia obtained her Master’s of Science in Education degree with specialty in TESOL from the University of Pennsylvania, where she also took courses towards a PhD in Educational Linguistics. Her twenty-five year experience in education includes U.S. public school K-12 program creation and development, ESL teacher and paraprofessional supervision and training, Intensive English program teaching and curriculum development, summer secondary school English language program director, and high school and middle school English and American literature and composition teacher.
She has lived and worked in Honduras, Mexico, Spain, and England. She has also taught in different U.S. states, including Colorado, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and New York. Her most recent jobs have been at Columbia University in New York and at Harvard University’s Intensive English Language Programs where she received Excellence in Teaching awards.
