Dorothy Lynde has extensive experience working as a Foreign Service Officer, teacher, public school administrator, and teacher trainer in South America and the Boston area. She is also a contributing author of several ESL textbooks. She earned a BA in History, and EdM in TESOL.
Since 1995, Dorothy has worked as a senior lecturer at Boston University, CELOP. She has instructed students at all proficiency levels, served on the Faculty Policy Committee and supervised student teachers and field observers from Boston University’s TESOL program. She has taught in special teacher training programs for Mexican university professors, Taiwanese secondary school teachers, and Madrid secondary school teachers.
Dorothy also worked at the Institute for English Language Programs at Harvard University for many years. While at Harvard, she helped develop content-based materials and used these materials as a medium for instruction. This experience gave her many insights into the challenges and rewards of using subject matter to improve language skills.
