Office 2008 Documents in the MLL

We use Microsoft Office 2008 in our labs. This saves documents in the new XML format (e.g., .docx). You will NOT be able to open these documents on other computers with older versions of Office (earlier than Office 2007 for Windows) or with Microsoft Works. If you want to open your lab documents on older version of Office, save it according to the directions below.

Saving a Word 2008 document in a format compatible with earlier versions of Word.

Wireless Internet (WiFi) at CELOP!

The CELOP and LCC buildings both have WiFi. Log in to either the "123" network or the "CELOP" network from your Mac or PC laptop with a wireless card (WiFi NIC).

123 network This is the secure BU network. You need a BU login and the BU VPN application installed on your computer.

CELOP network  This is a guest access network. Log in with the password from the MLL Orientation Video, Orientation material, or ask the Front Desk or MLL staff (office 251, 253, 267b).

MLL Orientation VideoComputer Lab Orientations

Students get a lab orientation immediately after registration. If you missed it, login to the open lab and click on the movie "MLL Orientation.mpg" on the dock. The video introduces you to CELOP computers, materials, and policies. It also tells you how to use Mac OS X. All CELOP students must watch this video, regardless of how much computing experience you have elsewhere.
