"Owen Wingrave" Opera

Starts:
7:30 pm on Thursday, February 21, 2013
Location:
Boston University Theater, 264 Huntington Ave.
The BU School of Theatre has invited CELOP students, faculty, and staff to the Feb 21 Huntington Theatre performance of "Owen Wingrave". This is an opera based on a short story by Henry James, with music composed by Benjamin Britten. Although the performance is in English, the show has supertitles to support the ESL audience. CELOP has 100 complimentary, reserved mezzanine seats for the Thursday, Feb 21, 7:30 pm performance. In addition, there will be a post-show discussion with the director and production crew that evening. Please sign up (and ask your students to sign up) with Shelley by Feb 15 so we can give the School of Theatre a head count in advance of the show. Tickets will be available at the box office the night of the performance under the name "CELOP." Owen Wingrave is the story of a young pacifist who is tormented by the military traditions of his family. As he seeks to prove his courage, the story veers towards a collision with fate leading to unexpected consequences. http://www.bu.edu/cfa/music/opera/news/
