• Application Fee: This amount is required to process applications. The application fee and tuition deposit are non-refundable and non-transferable.

• University Fees: This amount consists of a $60 Community Services/Program Fee and $60 Student Services Fee charged to all students.
  • Full-time applicants: this fee includes free membership to the university gymnasium (FitRec).
  • Part-time applicants: this fee does NOT include membership to the university gymnasium (FitRec). Part-time students have the option of purchasing their own membership.

• BU Course Tuition (English Plus Credit Program): This tuition is based on part-time tuition rates at Metropolitan College for courses numbered 100 – 499. At $425 per credit, this amount reflects the total tuition for enrolling in a 4-credit course. Students in the English Plus Credit program are only eligible to enroll in one 4-credit MET course. Please refer to the MET tuition rate page for more information.

• Medical Insurance: All students are required to have medical insurance. In the fall semester, this amount provides medical insurance coverage for the fall, spring, and summer semesters. For the spring semester, this amount provides medical insurance for the spring and summer semesters.

• Room/Meal Plan: Students may choose to live in Boston University Housing. This amount is based on costs for a shared room (two or more students) in a dormitory-style residence. Depending on the availability of particular residences, some students may be assigned to other accommodations which may cost more. All students living in Boston University housing are required to have a meal plan. Several plans are offered; this amount is based on unlimited meals each week. Less expensive dining plans are available. Students are not required to live on-campus. This is an estimated expense that is used for immigration (I-20) purposes.

• Estimated Personal Expenses: This estimated amount includes costs for books, supplies, and other miscellaneous expenses. Your actual expenses may differ. This is an estimated expense that is used  to create an I-20 Certificate of Eligibility.

• Total Estimated Expenses: Students must provide financial documents that match or exceed the total estimated expenses of the program they are applying for in order to receive an I-20 Certificate of Eligibility.

• Must be written in English.
• Must be dated within 9 months of the start date of the program you are applying for.
• Must show liquid (cash) funds in a checking or savings account.
• Must show funds that match or exceed the Total Estimated Expenses of the program you are applying for.
• Must be signed by a bank official.

• If financial documents are NOT in the student’s name, the student must also submit an Affidavit of Support form.

After you have been accepted to CELOP and created your BU login, you can view your account on the Student Link. 
Follow these steps to view your account and make a payment:

• Login to the Student Link.
• Click on the “Money Matters” tab, then “Student Account Inquiry.”
• On that page, you can view all charges on your account, check your account balance, and make payments.
• Click on “Make a Payment”

These are the payment options available to CELOP students:

• Credit Card

  • MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, Diners Club, JCB, and Union Pay are accepted by Boston University.
  • Please note: if you are continuing your studies and enrolling in a degree program at Boston University after your CELOP program, you cannot pay with a credit card. Instead, please refer to the payment instructions below for “Money Transfer with a U.S. Bank Account.”

• Money Transfer with a U.S. Bank Account

  • Login to your account on the Student Link and choose “Pay by Bank Account”.
  • Enter your bank account information and follow the steps to complete your payment.

• International Payments

  • Choose your preferred method of payment:
    • Flywire
    • GlobalPay
  • After you complete a form on these websites, you will get a document with their bank transfer details. You must bring this document to your bank to start the transfer. The vendor will then transfer the funds to Boston University.

• Check

  • All checks must be made payable to “Boston University” and must be in U.S. dollars (USD).
  • You must include you name and BU ID number on the check.

Students accepted to CELOP must pay all tuition and fees before the start of the program.

CELOP does not offer scholarships or financial aid.

CELOP students requesting a refund for all or a portion of their program must first complete an official withdrawal form. The completed form must be submitted in person or by email to CELOP Admissions at 890 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston MA or celop@bu.edu. Absence from class does not constitute withdrawal. It may, however, result in the student being dropped from his/her program if SEVIS requirements are not met. The following refund schedule is observed once a completed withdrawal form has been received, with the date of receipt being the determining factor for calculating refund percentage:

As per university policy, the refund percentage applies to tuition only. All non-refundable fees such as application and housing fees are not governed by this policy and are non-refundable.
