Here's What Some of CELOP's Past Students Had to Say About Us...

I'm studying English because I want to apply to a US university. A friend of mine told me that CELOP is a good institution for studying English. Now, at the end of my second semester, I can speak easily with Americans and I know that I will understand what they are telling me. And I got a good score on my TOEFL!

—Nadege Orbe, Chad

I wanted to improve my English because it's important to my career. CELOP was good for me because it is a serious school - you can learn English very quickly here and you won't waste your time.

—Marianna Ortega, Venezuela

My teacher always answered my questions clearly. Even when I couldn't explain exactly what I needed to know, he undersood me–I guess it comes from his 20-years of experience!

I really like the personal attention you get from the teachers and staff at CELOP. When I was having a hard time filling out my application for law school, the Academic Advisor really helped me and answered all my questions. Now I am looking forward to attending Harvard Law School in the fall.

—Augusto Mantilla-Serrano, Columbia

I came to CELOP to improve my English skills for my business. The multi-media lab gave me access to the Internet and e-mail so I could keep in touch with my job back home. I even learned some new computer skills.

—Wang Yan Xia, China

I need to know English to enter an American university. The fact that everybody at CELOP is nice and open to everybody gives you the courage to speak - even with mistakes - so you just speak and speak and so you learn! It's a great atmosphere. I also made a lot of friends and discovered many foreign cultures.

—Amina Cherif, Ivory Coast

I came to CELOP to study English because I want to finish my university studies in the US, and also because English is the most known language in the world. Boston University is very well-known, so I was sure that at CELOP I was going to learn a lot and it's true, I did.

—Jawad Benazzi, France

I wanted to learn English for my business because I needed to speak with people from other countries. Now I can speak on the phone with anyone speaking English!

—Zayed Almazrouei, United Arab Emirates

I want to study for my MBA at BU, but first I needed to study the English language. When I came to CELOP, I didn't know English, but now it's my third semester and I speak and understand English well.

—Byeong Koo Kim, Republic of Korea

Since I had decided to study English abroad, I knew I would have a great experience, but I didn’t figure out how good it would be to study at Celop! From the beginning, I felt extremely comfortable with my grammar and pronunciation mistakes, because the faculty and staff understand how difficult it is to speak a second language, like English! A good and healthy environment in class is essential for students to improve their skills and my core teacher was great with all of us. Boston is a great city too. Do not worry about touring alone because Celop offers several social activities, including movies, musicals, theaters, outlet tours, etc. If none of these interest you, just go to the Student Life Coordinator’s office and ask for other alternatives. And do not forget to invite your friends to go with you. It is a unique opportunity to share cultures while watching the Blue Man show!

This is the best English program I have ever seen.  The introduction to different media outlets and the writing instruction were really helpful.   While enjoying the beauty of Boston, I learned a lot.  What can be a better feeling than to you use your time so well?

—Leli Chen, Taiwan

In this program, you will not only brush up your English, but you will also find lifelong friends.

—Eiko Inoue, Japan

This is a great program not only for graduate students planning to study in a Communication school, but also for others like me. The program provides a good opportunity to understand the media-dominated world we live in.  It made my ordinary world more interesting!

—Mikako Yamasaki, Japan

This program helped me develop a better understanding of American history, local government, society, and popular culture, including music, film, and TV shows.  Boston is a wonderful city to explore, and you'll never regret your decision to come.  The program makes your Boston experience complete and unforgettable.

—Hongmei Shi, China

This program was a smooth transition into the American educational system.  I liked the experience of meeting people from different cultures and also my teachers, who were very helpful, supportive  and inspiring.
