Francisco Parra Ortega
Francisco studied at CELOP in Fall 2007 and Spring 2008. He sent this message to us in January 2009:
My two semesters at CELOP were full of rewarding experiences. My teachers gave me that feeling of home, which is crucial during study abroad. They made me feel safe, and they always found a way for students to feel comfortable with each other, making classes very enjoyable.
In the great city of Boston you are surrounded with the finest universities in the world. Also, you can entertain yourself with different activities, like going to concerts, theaters, parks, museums, bars, clubs, and professional sports games, among other things. It’s a stimulating and energizing place to live and study.
Friends were the best part for me. During my classes I had the joyful opportunity of making friendships with people from all nationalities. Their ideas, behaviors, and dress opened my mind to new horizons and, even more, they made me grow as a person.
Through intense daily group and individual classes, CELOP helped me sharpen my English skills and also build confidence in expressing my thoughts and ideas in English. In addition, thanks to the help and orientation of CELOP, I have the privilege of being the only Venezuelan lawyer to be accepted for the 2008/09 Class at Duke University School of Law to pursue an LL.M. Program (Master of Laws).
One of the best and most exciting times of my life.
“Center for the Expansion & Learning of People.”
Thank you.
Francisco
