Cheng-YaCheng-Ya (Steve) Chang

Cheng-Ya is from Taiwan.  He studied at CELOP in the Fall of 2005 and would like to work in the field of business in Taiwan in the future.

About his experience at CELOP he says,

I chose to study at CELOP because it was highly recommended to me by my friend who graduated from this program.  CELOP has been famous for many years for being an excellent English language center.

CELOP provides a lot of resources, the teachers give a lot of help, the facilities are excellent, and the program is very well organized.  I like having the freedom to choose my elective classes so that I can focus on what I want to learn and improve.

I focused on studying International Business during my time here at CELOP.  I had already studied many of the concepts that we covered in Chinese, but it was extremely helpful to learn about business in English.

My favorite thing about CELOP was my Directed Study.  I created my own learning program to help CELOP students become more involved in community events in Boston.

My teacher is an expert in his field and he taught me a lot.  Now I know how to read the financial section of the newspaper.

I would encourage anyone interested in studying English to take classes at CELOP.  They will gain more knowledge than they would be able to just from books; they will have an excellent experience learning with students from all over the world.

Before I attended CELOP, I used to be a little bit shy.  Now I’m more outgoing and my English has dramatically improved.  Now I’m comfortable interacting with people and I’m more confident.  My pronunciation has greatly improved.

My experiences studying at CELOP have helped me to become more independent.  I used to live with my parents, but now I’m responsible for many more things than before, and I’ve become more mature.
