Excellent Teachers
CELOP has a core faculty of 37 full-time teachers each with graduate degrees in Teaching English as a Second Language or related field. Our teachers generally have 15 to 20 years of classroom experience in the United States and overseas.
Dynamic Curriculum
CELOP offers an integrated skills program. Listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar and pronunciation are taught as a unit in the core class. Additionally, CELOP's electives program offers students the choice of taking classes in many areas such as American Culture, Business, News, Movies, and TOEFL Preparation. Students learn to communicate in English in preparation for academic and professional settings.
TOEFL Preparation
TOEFL preparation is integrated into the curriculum for mid-intermediate through advanced classes. Also, individual help in preparing for the TOEFL is available in our Academic Support Center. A TOEFL exam is given at the end of every semester for interested students.
Technology
The Multimedia Language Lab, which only CELOP students have access to, is one of the largest computer labs on campus with over 70 computers. These advanced computers allow students to watch video at their own pace, listen to authentic English materials, work on pronunciation, record their voice, improve their reading speed and access the Internet.
Specialized Business Sections
CELOP offers special sections of EN 050 and EN 055 for interested students in high-intermediate through advanced levels. Students in the business sections will read, write and speak mainly about business while they learn English. They will use business textbooks, business articles, business case studies in addition to regular English textbooks and materials.
