Maitreyi Choksi

I graduated from Barnard College in 2014 with a major in Neuroscience & Behavior. As an undergraduate student, I completed research under both Dr. Tovah Klein at the Barnard College Center for Toddler Development, and Dr. Bill Fifer at the New York State Psychiatric Institute division of Developmental Psychobiology. Under Dr. Klein my research focused on the concerns and challenges faced by parents during the toddler years, while under Dr. Fifer my research centered around the development of heart rate variability in late pre-term infants at 1-month and the implications this has for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. At the Brain and Early Experiences Lab, I’m looking forward to continuing my research with early childhood development before continuing my studies in clinical psychology, where I hope to research and work with children and adolescents facing anxiety and depression. When I’m outside the lab, I love exploring new places and foods with my friends and family, and of course, keeping up with my Hulu queue.

Alumni Update: Maitreyi was Research Coordinator in the BEE Lab from 2014-2015. She is now studying for her Masters in Social and Consumer Psychology at New York University.
