Class Day, which takes place every year on Saturday of Commencement Weekend, honors the achievements of the entire graduating class, specific senior award recipients and seniors who have shown commitment to the College and University . Each year, a student is chosen to be the Class Day speaker. All CAS seniors are encouraged to submit a speech to be considered. Each year Boston University hosts an All-University Commencement Ceremony where the President of the University confers the degrees upon the students. Students are formally presented with their diplomas at individual Departmental convocation ceremonies held throughout Commencement weekend.
