What is the Global Health Sector Interdisciplinary Case Competition?
The Global Health Sector Interdisciplinary Case Competition is an invitation-only 24-hour case competition to solve a health sector market challenge and is focused on current issues related to medical devices in the global health sector.
Teams of full-time students from the world’s leading MBA programs come together to compete for judges from leading Health Sector companies. These teams, ideally, are also comprised of top students from medicine, public health, law, and/or engineering.
Who can participate?
The Case Competition is open to all full time MBA students from the invited schools. Team members from Medicine, Public Health, Engineering and Law are encouraged to participate, but must be full time students from the invited school. Teams must include at least two MBA students. Part Time and Executive Education students are not eligible to compete.
When will the Global Health Sector Interdisciplinary Case Competition be held?
The Global Health Sector Interdisciplinary Case Competition will be held at the School of Management on November 1 – 3, 2012.

Participant Details
Can schools apply to enter the competition?
Participation in 7th Annual International Tech Strategy Business Case Competition is by invitation only.
Is there a fee to enter the Case Competition?
No, this event is invite only and we do not require a registration fee.
How many members should each team have?
Each team is required to have four participants.
What is the format for the final presentation?
Each team will make a PowerPoint presentation to the judges 24 hours after receiving the case. In addition, each team must provide three printed copies of the presentation to the judges. Business Attire is required for final presentations.
Can more than one team from a single school compete?
No, only one four-member team per school may compete.
Do teams have access to the library?
Participants will have access to the Pardee Library located in the SMG building and any non-password protected resources and databases offered to students/faculty/staff. Access to most on-line resources is also available from any internet connection within the SMG building. Please note that some resources, such as Bloomberg’s, are only available from designated terminals within the Pardee Library. Library hours for Friday and Saturday are as follows: * Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. * Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Where will the teams work during the competition?
The Rafik B. Hariri School of Management Building is open between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday, March 30 and March 31. Participants have 24-hour access by using their individual security card. The card reader for entry to the building is located to the right of the outside front door. Please do not allow any individuals other than your team members into the building.
Logistics
Will Boston University make hotel arrangements for teams?
The School of Management is proud to welcome an impressive group of teams from across the globe. As host of the competition, we will provide accommodations at the Hotel Buckminster, which is just a brief walk from the School. The Hotel is accessible via the MBTA. Take the Green B, C or D line to the Kenmore stop.
Where is the Boston University School of Management located?
The School of Management is located at 595 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston, just outside of Kenmore Square.
Is the School accessible via public transportation?
Yes, the School of Management is accessible via the MBTA Green (B) line.
The closest stop is Blandford Street.
Can international teams check into the hotel early?
Yes. Each international team has the option of arriving one day early, on March 23. Please inform us of that decision and we will adjust your hotel reservation accordingly.
