Sarah Niles

Sarah grew up in Clinton, CT. She received a B.A. in Communication Sciences and a M. A. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Connecticut. Sarah joined the CAS Advising Center staff and Boston University in January 2008. She provides general support and guidance to all students in CAS, and shares several different caseloads of students including those who are undeclared, in academic difficulty, and preparing to graduate. Sarah also oversees the Dual Degree Program (DDP), and coordinates the Directed Study application process for CAS undergraduate students. She teaches a section of the First Year Experience course FY101, and works closely with several peer mentoring opportunities including the Academic Mentoring Partnership (AMP), and the Peer Counseling course ED 245. Sarah enjoys connecting with students as they plan and build their college experience. She loves to travel and hangout out with her nephew Grayson whenever she can.

Tess Varney

Tess Varney studied legal studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. After a brief foray into the legal world, she decided that was no longer the path for her, and is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration at Boston University. Tess is the lead administrator in CAS Advising, and works with faculty, staff and students to resolve any issues that come up. Tess also teaches FY 101 which allows her to assist incoming students as they adjust to the college setting. She also enjoys film, cooking, and reading in her spare time.
