CAS lecturer honored with annual Gitner Award

When Amber Navarre received the Gerald and Deanne Gitner Award for Innovation in Teaching with Technology, an award conferred by the Office of the Provost and the Center for Teaching & Learning, she was shocked. “You look at the previous winners and they are developing whole databases or something big,” says Navarre, a College of Arts & Sciences senior lecturer in Chinese. However, it was Navarre’s out-of-the-box use of everyday technology to make her classes more efficient that landed her this prestigious honor.
