Academic
Orientation Programs
The
Office of Orientation and Off-Campus Services offers accepted
students academic orientation programs during the summer and
winter months that provide a variety of resources to support
their transition into Boston University. Whether students
are used to the fast pace of an urban area or the slower pace
of a rural community, Academic Orientation will make their
transition easier. Orientation ensures that accepted students
are properly registered for their classes and introduces them
to the campus community. Students also participate in workshops
and meet with an academic advisor from the faculty. For more
information about Academic Orientation, please visit http://www.bu.edu/orientation.
For
further information, please contact the Office of Orientation
at 617-353-3555 or oocs@bu.edu.

Major
Choices: Planning your Future in CAS and Beyond
Each October the College of Arts
and Sciences sponsors a week called "Major Choices,"
dedicated to choosing a CAS concentration. This year, major
choices will be held October 20 to October 24, 2008 (schedule to be posted here).
Major Choices provides an excellent opportunity for undeclared
CAS freshmen and sophomores, as well as students from the
other schools contemplating intra-University transfer to CAS.
In the course of the week, participating students can learn
more about each of the concentrations available in the college,
explore the relationship between the liberal arts and their
eventual careers, and make connections. The program includes
presentations from pre-med and pre-law advisors, career services
workshops, and walk-in counseling sessions with representatives
from each office designed to assist with selecting a major
and/or career.
For further information, please
contact the Office of Programs at 617-358-3199 or casevent@bu.edu.
