Congratulations on your recent or upcoming graduation from the College of Arts & Sciences. The Commencement weekend is full
of special events honoring the achievements of CAS graduates and expressing the pleasure,
excitement, and pride of their families, their teachers,
and their friends.
Boston University will hold its commencement exercises during the weekend of May 15-17, 2009. You are welcome to take part in this happy celebration with your classmates.
The All-University Commencement will take place on Sunday, May 17 at 1 PM on Nickerson Field. For a list of speakers and honorees, click here. To learn more about Commencement arrival and assembly procedures, click here.
The awarding of diplomas will take place on Sunday at the CAS departmental convocations listed on the Commencement website. Please be sure to tell your family members and other guests which departmental ceremony you will be attending. For specific questions about departmental convocations and receptions, please contact the department directly using the CAS Departmental Directory.
You are invited to join us for Class Day on Saturday, May 16 at 3 p.m. in the Morse Auditorium, 602 Commonwealth Avenue. Come celebrate the accomplishments of graduating seniors with faculty, students, and families. A range of awards will be given to members of the graduating class, including the College Prizes awarded by each academic department. Seniors are encouraged to attend in cap and gown. The ceremony will be followed by a reception at 4 p.m. in the School of Management Atrium at 595 Commonwealth Avenue.
Seniors are encouraged to get involved in exciting Senior Week events leading up to Commencement Weekend, such as a Fenway Park Barbecue and Senior Ball. For more information, click here.
