Researchers at BU, MIT Make Promising Discovery in Study of Terahertz Radiation

A team of researchers at Boston University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a number of other institutions recently observed that certain materials undergo an insulator-to-metal transition under the influence of terahertz radiation. CAS Mourns the Loss of Archaeology PhD Candidate Chad DiGregorio

Third-year PhD student Chad DiGregorio, working on an archaeological dig in western Turkey, was found dead on the morning of July 19, apparently the victim of a fall in a rugged area of hills and caves in the province of Manisa. The promising scholar will be missed by colleagues, friends, and family.

Withers’ Research Pinpoints Solar Events Blocking Martian Satellite Signal

In August 2005, the Mars Express spacecraft was dutifully sending back data on the stratigraphy of the upper regions of the Martian crust when its signal kept getting interrupted. The CAS Advising Center, Records, Pre-Professional Advising, and Student Programs & Leadership occupy the 4th floor of the building.
