As of January 1, AMNESP has a new director: Nina Silber, Professor of History. Professor Silber specializes in the era of the U.S. Civil War and the afterlife of the Civil War in American culture.
Professor Silber offers great thanks to her predecessor, Kim Sichel, Associate Professor in History of Art & Architecture, who has led the program for the past 3 1/2 years.
AMNESP has also formed a new program committee to help oversee and offer guidance on the program. The following faculty members, aside from the new director, will be serving on that program committee: Claire Dempsey (Director of Preservation Studies); Roy Grundmann (COM/Film & Television); Marilyn Halter (HI & DGS for AMNESP); Keith Morgan (HAA); William Moore (HAA & DUS for AMNESP); Anita Patterson (EN); Sarah Phillips (HI); Kim Sichel (HAA); and a representative of the AMNESP graduate student community.
