Celebrating the CAS Honors Program

At an Alumni Weekend reception at the Castle, Dean Virginia Sapiro celebrated the accomplishments of the CAS Honors Program, which next year will be superseded by departmental programs leading to graduation with honors in the major or minor. For nearly twenty years, the Honors Program inspired hundreds of CAS students to meet the standards of the unique Honors curriculum. Dean Sapiro recognized the generous contributions of founding director Jeff Henderson and his successors, Bonnie Costello, Hsueh-Ling Huynh, and James Schmidt. The Dean also recognized Jocelyn Emerson who, as associate director of the program, coordinated the activities of hundreds of students and faculty members each year, connecting students to interests beyond the classroom through such programs as the Chamber Music Society.
