In this conference, Ms. Vanessa Badré will use well-known works of art from master artists, including Manet, Van Gogh, Picasso, Duchamp, and da Vinci, and focus on the process of their creation. In a dialogue with the audience, and with demonstrations rooted in academic vigor and a quick images projection rhythm, she will help even novice art viewers “see” how the great masters were keen on recycling, with a twist.

By observing images and understanding how they were made, Vanessa Badré shows how even valuable masterpieces are never completely new, rather they are a collection of prior efforts and existing design. Ultimately, even what is newly “created” is invariably derivative of past work and accomplishments; nothing is truly from scratch. Understanding and exploring this process through a presentation and discussion can help people from all professions rediscover their own creative process and unleash creative energies in many other diverse fields.
