SNOVI (“Dreams”) is the cinematic exploration of the aftermath of war, love, and the beauty of a moment. The film is a 15-minute fictional account of a Bosnian composer, struggling to cope with the aftermath of the Serbian aggression in the 1990′s. His memories interweave in fragments, forming a mosaic of a painful past not yet understood or realized. The film’s unique structure and stunning cinematography explores the conscious and subconscious ways we confront trauma, blurring the line between imagination and memory, nightmares and dreams. Screening will be followed by a conversation with director Reshad Kulenovic about the tensions and circumstances in the Balkans.
