Boston
and its surrounding areas are often called “the Athens of
America” because of its rich history and its multitude of
educational and cultural opportunities. The Boston area is home
to more than
50 colleges and universities and is the place from which Paul Revere
set off
on his famous midnight ride.
The first-ever telephone call was placed in Cambridge (by Alexander
Graham Bell, who was on sabbatical from the Boston University faculty
at the time), and the area lays claim to one of the first analog
computers ever built. Browse through these links to learn more about
the city College of Arts and Sciences students call home.
