Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has chosen Professor of Archaeology and Director of the Center for Remote Sensing Farouk El-Baz as one of 16 renowned academics and experts for his advisory council. As a member of the council, El-Baz will play a vital role in national projects such as the creation of a channel that runs parallel to the Suez Canal. Council members will also help El-Sisi’s mission to improve education in Egypt, as well as diminish religious turmoil within the country’s borders and improve discourse within the media. Read more
