* There are now specific forms that differ from the Academic Appointment Form for part-time, research, and secondary appointments. See the "Appointments (other)" section of the Provost forms website.

Research Fellow and Visiting Scholar (non-compensated)

  • Sponsoring Faculty Member’s Memo of Recommendation with chair's endorsement
  • Academic Appointment Form
  • Current Vita (no older than 3 months)

Part-time Reappointment

This includes RsFel, VsSch and FT Research Faculty.* Faculty returning to Boston University after a period of more than 3 years will require the submission of initial appointment forms.
