Office After Hours: The Work of Elmore Leonard

  • Starts: 7:30 pm on Tuesday, January 28, 2014
Join us for Office After Hours, a new series for alumni featuring informal discussions with BU faculty members. Enjoy a drink with fellow Terriers and have a great conversation about a topic that means something to you. Professor Charles Rzepka, who recently published Being Cool: The Work of Elmore Leonard, will lead our first discussion about the late novelist and screenwriter who is best known for his crime fiction and suspense thrillers. Whether you have read one of Leonard's novels, love the movie Get Shorty, are a fan of Justified on FX or just want to learn more, we welcome you to join the conversation. Snacks are on the BUAA, drinks are on you! Charles Rzepka, a Lexington resident, is Professor of English in the College of Arts and Sciences and Editor of Studies in Romanticism. His teaching and research interests include British romanticism, detective and crime fiction, history of science, and socioeconomic and gift theory. He has recently blogged about Elmore Leonard for The JHU Press and considered his legacy for WBUR’s Cognoscenti.
