Instructions
for Early Registration Advising Appointments
for Undeclared Students
1. Using the profile on faculty advisors,
select an advisor with whom you would like
to meet to discuss your fall course selections.
2. Once you have chosen an advisor, call
or stop by the CAS Academic Advising Center
to make an advising appointment between
8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
CAS Academic Advising Center
725 Commonwealth Ave., Room 105
617-353-2400
3. If you do not already have a copy of
the 2008/2009 Undergraduate Bulletin, you
may pick one up at the Office of the University
Registrar or access this information on
Boston University’s Student Link.
4. Using the Undergraduate Bulletin, select
classes which you would like to take next
semester. Before meeting with your advisor,
you must fill out the Early Registration
Advising Form for Undeclared Students and
have selected at least six possible courses
which you would like to take in the fall.
5. Come to your advising appointment a
little early. If you come late, your advisor
may not be
able to meet with you. Bring your completed
Early Registration Advising form.
6. Meet with your advisor.
7. Your advisor should sign the Early Registration
Form before you depart. The Early
Registration Form can be used only for WEBREG.
If you choose to register in person, you
must use the University Registration Form,
available in the Registrar’s Office
at 881 Commonwealth Avenue or on the web
at www.bu.edu/reg.
8. Take your signed form to the front
desk in Room 105 and ask for your Academic
Advising
Code (AAC). Your advisor’s signature
will authorize the release of this code
to you. With the
code you will be assigned a registration
time. You will not be able to register without
this code.
9. Using your signed Early Registration
Form and the Class Schedule, you will be
able to
choose sections and times for your courses.
The Class Schedule may be viewed on line
at http://www.bu.edu/reg.
Please note that you can plan ahead using
the WebReg Planner. This function on the
Student Link allows you to choose your classes
in advance of the official registration
date. The Planner can be used to select
and adjust your classes prior to registration.
The Planner saves your selections until
you go back and move them to your schedule.
This can be done once the registration period
begins.
10. Using your Academic Advising Code
(AAC), directions to access WEBREG (available
at the Registrar’s Office or on the
Student Link), your login and Kerberos password
you can log on to WEBREG to register for
your classes. You may review your course
registration on the Student
Link.
11. Keep your Academic Advising Code (AAC)
for the duration of the following semester.
It will enable you to make changes to your
schedule prior to the beginning of classes
and to drop classes once the semester has
started.
12. Please be advised that you may only
register for a class by WEBREG until the
day
classes begin. Also, if you choose to register
that late, you will be assessed a late registration
fee and you will enjoy fewer options for
choosing your schedule.
