Congratulations and Welcome!

Message from the GRS Office
Please know that our priority during this challenging time is the well-being of our students and ensuring their ability to begin study in their master’s degree program and fulfill their academic program requirements. Due to the growing impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, all accepted student days, interview days, and individual student visits will be moved to a virtual format.
We are aware of the increasing concern around delayed visa appointments for our international students and delayed air travel for both our domestic and international students. Please be assured that we are currently working on alternative enrollment options for admitted students who are unable to make it to campus by the start of classes in September. You will be contacted via email with updates as they become available.
You can find important information regarding the impact of COVID-19 for our graduate students, including a guide to university policy and a list of resources, here.
As public health guidance continues to evolve rapidly, our office will continue to provide the latest information as quickly as possible. For the most comprehensive coverage, please visit the BU COVID-19 site. As always, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Please reach out to grs@bu.edu or by phone at 617-353-2696 for assistance, or contact individual staff by email or their direct phone extensions.

Our recovery planning is focused on the fall semester, and the resumption of our on-campus, in-person programs in late August. We are planning accordingly and will incorporate the best public health practices into those plans so that members of the BU community will feel comfortable and safe on campus upon their return for fall semester. If for some reason public health authorities do not allow universities to re-open their residential campuses at that time, our planning will explore other alternatives, including the possibility of restarting later in the year.

We at Boston University’s Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (GRS) are delighted to have you join us for your graduate degree studies. We hope that you will find your time here enjoyable, stimulating, rewarding and successful. Before you arrive on campus, we would like to share the following information with you to make the transition to our school as smooth as possible.
