Consortium: Inter-University
Cross Registration
The Consortium is a cross
registration treaty among Boston College,
Brandeis University, Hebrew College, Tufts
University and Boston University. The following
guidelines apply.
The agreement covers
all undergraduate courses and programs in
the Arts and Sciences and all full-time
undergraduate students enrolled in the respective
Colleges of Arts and Sciences.
A Boston University student who wishes to
register in one of the participating colleges
must pick up a "Cross Registration
Packet" from the Office of the University
Registrar at 881 Commonwealth Avenue. Follow
the instructions included in the packet.
Boston University students may only cross
register for one course each semester and
for only seven courses while enrolled as
an undergraduate.
Summer sessions are excluded from the Consortium.
There will be no exchange of fees.
Enrollment in any course by a guest student
is subject to the pre-requisites and requirements
for the course. Guest students are subject
to all the requirements for the host course,
including attendance, according to the calendar
and schedule of the host school.
For the purposes of the agreement, full
semester courses at all participating colleges
carry equal credit. Boston University students
must register for a traditional grade. No
pass/fail or similar grade options will
be recognized.
Guest students will be issued a temporary
identification card validated for the semester
of their enrollment in the host college.
Guest students will only be allowed to register
in courses after the host students are registered.
A non-Boston University student from one
of the Consortium members should have a
"Cross Registration Packet" from
his/her home school or may pick up one from
the Office of the University Registrar at
881 Commonwealth Avenue. Follow the instructions
included in the packet.
Boston University students will only be
allowed to register in one other college
in any one semester.
When courses have been completed, grades
will be sent to the Registrar to be entered
into the Boston University record and computed
into the grade point average. The course
will be considered a part of the CAS program
for residency purposes.
