First Steps: Getting
to Know the College
The main classroom and administrative
building of the College of Arts and Sciences
is on the central plaza of BU’s Charles
River Campus. The Arts and Sciences Dean’s
Office has a street address of 725 Commonwealth
Avenue. The building is located at the BU
Central stop on the MBTA’s Green B
Line. Other classrooms and libraries are
located along and off Commonwealth Avenue
between Kenmore Square and Babcock Street.

Exploring the Campus
A good place to start is at
the George Sherman Union (GSU), located
at the heart of campus at 775 Commonwealth
Avenue. In addition to serving as headquarters
for undergraduate student activities, the
GSU houses the Terrier Card (student ID)
office, a U.S. Post Office, the University
Community Service Center, two banks, a large
food court and dining area, a coffee and
bagel shop, and a convenience store.
