Office of STEM Outreach & Diversity

The College of Arts & Sciences is committed to contributing to the greater Boston community in meaningful ways and to improving diversity in the natural and computational sciences. Our STEM outreach programs advance both goals by connecting people from diverse backgrounds with immersive hands-on educational experiences at Boston University.

The CAS Office of STEM Outreach and Diversity promotes the College’s outreach efforts, facilitates collaborations, and consults with faculty members about engaging with the broader community. We support the implementation of STEM activities that create broader impacts, and we highlight K-12 and undergraduate programs that expose students to the excitement of scientific inquiry and encourage participants to undertake further studies in STEM.

Faculty are encouraged to explore the collection of resources on this site and contact the office to:

  • Learn more about Broader Impacts and get advice on National Science Foundation grant proposal preparation
  • Partner with STEM outreach programs at Boston University
  • Browse programs at Boston University that increase our STEM impact
  • Find resources on Broader Impacts and diversity in STEM fields
