What Is a CV?

A curriculum vitae (CV) is a summary of education, experience, publications, professional presentations, research, honors and awards, association memberships, leadership positions held, and other relevant information. A CV is used by professionals who are targeting academia and other research related professions such as medicine and psychology.

A CV is much longer than a resume, typically running several pages. The format is specialized, and can vary by discipline.
