Services For Alumni

The Center for Career Development provides a range of services to alumni. Remember to check out the Alumni Office for other services.

Career Counseling

During the first two years after graduation, alumni can utilize our career counseling services at no charge.

Alumni who graduated more than two years ago are welcome to make appointments with our counselors for a fee of $25.00 per appointment.

Career Assessment Package

Career assessments, combined with career counseling, is available for all alumni. A fee of $90.00 includes:

  • Intake appointment
  • Administration and interpretation of Strong Interest Inventory
  • Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
  • Skills and Values card sorts

Career Expos

All alumni are always welcome at any of our Career Expos, and of course there is no charge for any of these events. Please be aware that many employers at our career expos (although not all) are looking to speak primarily with entry-level candidates, and might be less able to provide information for candidates with extensive experience.

Career Library

Alumni are welcome to use the Career Resource Library at any time; no appointment necessary. The library contains books on career exploration, self-assessment, the job search process, and graduate school information. Hours are 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday – Thursday, and 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday. Summer hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. every day. Please call 617-353-3590 to check for hours during academic breaks.

Career Advisory Network

The Career Advisory Network, or C.A.N., is a database of BU alumni who have volunteered to speak with BU students and other alums about their careers. C.A.N. should be used for career exploration, informational interviewing, or networking only, and not for conducting a job search. The database is maintained by the Alumni Office.

Credentials Service

The Center for Career Development is discontinuing its paper credential service and is now referring clients to Interfolio (http://www.interfolio.com) for the processing of credentials. Interfolio is an on-line service that provides safe storage and electronic or paper sending of your credentials documents. New clients should open accounts directly with Interfolio. Those of you who currently have paper files with our office, please see the Credentials section of our website for more information.
