Richard A. Leger |
Director
|
Richard A. Leger, Director of the Office of Career Services
at Boston University, has a BA in Philosophy from St. John's
College and an M.Div from St. John's School of Theology. He
has also done graduate work in Counseling at Boston State College.
Since coming to Boston University as a Career Development
Counselor in 1974, he has been extensively involved in providing
services covering all facets of the career development process.
He is particularly interested in encouraging early use of career
services by freshmen and sophomores as well as in increasing
the number of local, regional, and national employers who recruit
Boston University graduates on campus.

Deborah Halliday |
Assistant Director
|
Deborah Halliday, Assistant Director of Career Services, joined
the Boston University community in December 1998. She brings
a background in business administration and was previously employed
as an assistant vice president at State Street Bank, where she
was responsible for analyzing and re-designing business operations
and developing training and education programs for staff. She
holds an MBA from Suffolk University, an MA in American Studies
from the University of Massachusetts, and a BA in Sociology.
Debbie is excited about what Career Services has to offer students,
from practical job-hunting advice, career fairs, and employer
visits, to help with thinking about majors, careers, and how
it all fits into "life." Most of all, she hopes that students
will come visit, take advantage of all that the office has to
offer, and give the staff their feedback and suggestions as
to how we can serve them better.

Martha Brill |
Career Counselor
|
Martha Brill has an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University and a Master of Education with a concentration in counseling from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She has worked as a career counselor with diverse groups including adult career changers, and students from undergraduate and graduate programs. She especially enjoys facilitating the process of gaining knowledge about one's values, skills, interests, and personality strengths. She is qualified in applying and interpreting the Myers-Brigg Type Indicator, and has worked with other self assessment tools as well. In addition, she assists students in career exploration, decision making, developing a job search strategy and writing effective marketing materials (cover letter and resume). Martha works with all majors.

Terry Brown |
Career Counselor

Terry Brown, a Boston University alumna of the College of
Liberal Arts (presently the College of Arts and Sciences) joined
the Office of Career Services as a career counselor in January
1988. In addition to a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, she earned
an M.Ed. in Counseling, and is certified by the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts as a School Guidance Counselor as well as a
Licensed Certified Social Worker. Terry has been working in
the field of career guidance for over twenty years, in both
community-based and university settings. Her focus at Boston University
is with students and alumni from the School of Education, Sargent
College, College of Fine Arts, and the School of Social Work.

Deborah Robinson |
Career Counselor

Deb Robinson joined the Office of Career Services in August of 2006, but she is not new to BU. Deb first joined the BU community in 2000 when she was the Alumni Office at Sargent College. With a passion for connecting young alumni and current students for mentoring and networking, Deb decided to move into student affairs. After earning a MEd in Counseling at Boston University’s School of Education, Deb worked at Lasell College in the capacity of Resident Director and Assistant Director of Career Services. Three years later, the diversity of students and opportunities brought Deb back to BU. An English and French major in her undergraduate years, she is a true believer that you can pursue your career goals with any major. She enjoys helping students find career paths that tap into their natural skills and passions and understand the true value of their liberal arts education. While Deb sees students and alumni from all majors, her focus is on science and technology.

Peter Waelsch |
Career Counselor

Peter Waelsch has been a career counselor at Boston University
since 1992. Previously, Peter worked in nonprofit and workplace
education programs providing career and educational guidance
to adults. Before that, he worked in Spain and Germany as an
elementary school teacher in international schools. Peter holds
a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Wisconsin
and a Master of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of
Education. While Peter works with students and alumni from all
disciplines, he focuses on College of Arts and Sciences students
and graduates. He is particularly interested in working with
students and alumni in assessing their interests, skills, values,
and personality preferences and connecting that information
to majors and careers to explore. Additionally, he oversees
the maintenance of the extensive internship listings that arrive
in the office daily.

Donna Devlin |
Administrative Secretary
|
Donna has worked at the Office of Career Services since September
1987. She is a native of the Boston area. Donna works at the
front desk and manages the daily functions of the office. She
handles incoming phone calls, schedules appointments for the
career counselors, and provides assistance to students, alumni,
and staff who come into the office.

Alison Adams |
Career Information Specialist
|
Alison joined Boston University in May 2003. She holds
a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from
Simmons College. Alison has academic, special, and public library
experience. She administers the resources available in the Career Resource Library and is the web administrator for the department's website. She enjoys working with students, especially in workshops and
one-on-one.

Corinne Montanaro |
Recruiting Coordinator
|
Corinne began working at Boston University in December 2001.
She graduated from Boston College and received a B.A. in psychology
with a concentration in management. As the Recruiting Coordinator
she schedules interview dates with employers and helps students
with the recruiting process. She also oversees the credential
files of students and alumni who are applying for positions
and graduate school.

Heather Reghitto |
Recruiting Manager

Heather Reghitto joined the Office of Career Services in December 2005 as the Recruiting Manager. She holds a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA. Prior to joining Boston University, Heather worked in Corporate Human Resources Departments, specifically on the University and College Relations programs. With a background in placing students in intern, co-op and entry level full time positions, Heather hopes to bridge the gap between students and employers.
