Career counselors are available for one-hour appointments to discuss
your career-related questions. Stop by the office or call 617-353-3590
to schedule an appointment.

Do you have a quick question, or do you want a quick resume review?
Stop in any day between noon and 4 p.m. for a first-come, first-served
15-minute session with a staff person on duty.

Our counselors utilize a variety of formal and informal assessments
to help you in choosing a career direction or in making other career-related
decisions. A counselor can help you decide what assessments are right
for you. You can also take an on-line assessment on your own by going
to Typefocus.

The CEG is a 5-week in-depth group workshop, led by two of our counselors,
to enable students to learn more about their own personal styles and
work preferences, the wide variety of options available in the world
of work, and techniques for making and implementing career and job-search
plans. There is a small materials fee for the career testing. The
CEG is held once per semester; call 617-353-3590 for information on
the next available group.

Located in our offices on the 3rd floor of 19 Deerfield Street, the
Career Resource Library contains information and resources to help
you learn about various career fields and the job search process,
and also contains hard-copy job and internship listings in binders.
Come visit to see all that we have! On-line Job Postings: Use BU
CareerLink to access jobs and internships posted for BU students.
(Note: these listings will be different from those posted in hard-copy.)

Each semester, our Recruiting Office brings employers to our campus
to interview students for jobs. If you will be graduating within the
next nine months, you can start interviewing now. Go to BU
CareerLink for listings.

Employers often visit our campus to speak with students in small groups.
Sometimes the sessions are planned for students participating in on-campus
recruiting, but any BU student is welcome to attend. If you are just
beginning to think about a career direction, or just starting your
job search, consider coming to information sessions. Look on our website
for upcoming sessions.

We hold two career fairs per year; one in the fall and one in the
spring. Employer lists are always available on our website prior to
each event.

The Office of Career Services and the Boston College Career Center
co-sponsor a Virtual Graduate School Fair during the months of October
and March each year.
If you are a Graduate School representative, click
here for more information.
A list of registered programs will be available on our home
page throughout these months. This can be a great chance to explore
possibilities and learn about new programs.

From time to time, our office either sponsors or hosts other special
career-related events of interest to students. All events will be
announced on our web site, so please visit our home page regularly.

E-mail lists are available for a variety of special topic areas, as
well as by class year. These can be a great way to make sure you know
about special events and other opportunities offered by our office.
(Note: we do not send notices about specific recruiting opportunities
or employers visits.) To find out more about these e-mail lists, please
see our home page.

The Career Advisory Network, operated and maintained by the BU Alumni
Office, allows current students to contact BU alumni who have volunteered
to speak with students about their careers. (Note: CAN is for informational/networking
purposes only; please do not use CAN to ask for a job.) Please access
CAN through the BU Alumni website, www.bu.edu/alumni.

Our office provides a Credentials Service (also referred to as a Dossier
service) for students and alumni who wish to open and maintain a permanent
reference file. Learn more about this service in the Credentials
section of this website.
