Meet the Staff
Kimberly G. DelGizzo
Director
Kimberly joined Boston University in June of 2009. She has worked in human services, higher education and in the field of career development for more than twenty years. Kimberly holds a BA with a double major in psychology and sociology from Coker College and an MS in counseling from the University of Vermont. Most recently Kimberly served as an associate dean of the College and Career Development Center director at Brown University, prior to that she worked at Harvard University as an associate director for PhD advising, and at Stonehill College as the director of career services.
Kimberly is committed to building partnerships with a wide range of constituents in order to enhance the services and resources offered through the office. She and her staff encourage all students to jump start their career development by visiting the Center for Career Development early in their academic experience and often!
In her free time, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her daughter (a college student) and son (a recent graduate), hiking, traveling to places far and near, appreciating theater, music, dance, and so much more.
Donna Devlin
Administrative Secretary
Donna has worked at the Center for Career Development since September 1987. She is a native of the Boston area. Donna works at the front desk and manages the daily functions of the office. She handles incoming phone calls, schedules appointments for the career counselors, and provides assistance to students, alumni, and staff who come into the office.

Martha Brill
Assistant Director/Career Counselor
Martha has been with the Center for Career Development for 13 years counseling students from all colleges and majors. She has her undergraduate degree from Northeastern University in Criminal Justice and a master’s in education with a concentration in counseling from UMass in Boston. Martha has worked as a career counselor with diverse groups including adult career changers and students from undergraduate and graduate programs. She especially enjoys facilitating the process of gaining knowledge about one’s values, skills, interests, and personality strengths. She is qualified in applying and interpreting the Myers-Brigg Type Indicator and has worked with other self-assessment tools as well. In addition, she assists students in career exploration, decision making, developing a job search strategy, and writing effective cover letters and resumes. She also co-facilitates the Career Ambassador program of student volunteers who assist with resume reviews and outreach to the BU community. In her spare time, she enjoys jogging and volunteering to help grieving families cope with their loss.
Terry Brown
Assistant Director/Career Counselor
Terry, a Boston University alumna of the College of Liberal Arts (presently the College of Arts and Sciences), joined the Center for Career Development as a career counselor in January 1988. In addition to providing individual career counseling, Terry develops and presents programs for the BU Community on a range of topics related to career development. Along with a bachelor of arts in sociology, she earned an M.Ed. in counseling from Antioch College, and is a licensed certified social worker and a trained mediator in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Terry has been working in the field of career development for over thirty years, in both community-based and university settings. Her focus at Boston University is with students and alumni from the School of Education, Sargent College, and the School of Social Work, while working with students and alumni from all disciplines. Outside of work, you’ll find Terry most often listening to music, reading, attending dance performances, going to the movies, and socializing with friends and family.
Deborah Jancourtz
Assistant Director/Career Counselor
Deborah joined the Center for Career Development in March, 2010. Prior to coming to Boston University, she worked at Northeastern University as a faculty coop coordinator. In addition to working in higher education, Deborah worked in the private sector as a senior career development specialist at Polaroid Corporation and in marketing at several computer companies. She has a BA in French and French literature from the University of Wisconsin and an MS in human resource development from Northeastern University. She is fluent in French and loves practicing other languages as well, including German and Spanish. She enjoys baking for fun occasions and even tries new yoga postures in her spare time. She loves animals and has a black cat with a one-inch tail.
Peter Waelsch
Assistant Director/Career Counselor
Peter has been a career counselor at Boston University since 1992. Previously, he worked in nonprofit and workplace education programs providing career and educational guidance to adults. Before that, he worked in Spain and Germany as an elementary school teacher in international schools. Peter holds a bachelor of arts in history from the University of Wisconsin and a master of education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. While Peter works with students and alumni from all disciplines, he focuses on College of Arts and Sciences students and graduates. He is particularly interested in working with students and alumni in assessing their interests, skills, values, and personality preferences and connecting that information to majors and careers to explore. Peter enjoys playing and watching basketball, exercising, and cooking for family and friends.
Jesse Ohrenberger
Assistant Director/Career Counselor
Jesse joined the Center for Career Development in June 2011. Her previous career counseling experience includes working at MIT and at a Boston-based community organization. Jesse graduated from Boston College with an MA in higher education administration and a BA in psychology and communications. Outside of work, Jesse enjoys baking and decorating cakes, dancing and boating. She also volunteers at a dog shelter and hangs out with her own adopted black lab named Onyx.
Employer Relations
Patricia Piquette
Associate Director
Patty joined Boston University in August 2010. She has twenty years of experience working in both higher education and corporate recruiting. Patty holds a bachelor of arts in applied English from Western New England College and a master of education in student personnel administration in higher education from Springfield College.
Patty oversees employer relations which focuses on employer and alumni outreach, marketing internships and job opportunities to students, as well as managing the on-line recruiting system, BU CareerLink. Patty and her team work closely with employers to recruit students/alumni from all majors across the University in order to find the right talent for their organizations. Patty is passionate about bridging the gap between employers and students/alumni to help all reach their employment goals!
Outside of work, Patty enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is passionate about cooking and enjoys entertaining, working out at FitRec, hiking, kayaking, traveling and reading.
Corinne Montanaro
Recruiting Coordinator
Corinne began working at Boston University in December 2001. She graduated from Boston College and received a BA in psychology with a concentration in management. As the recruiting coordinator, she schedules interview dates with employers and helps students with the recruiting process. She also oversees the credential files of students and alumni who are applying for positions and graduate school.
Heather Reghitto
Recruiting Manager
Heather joined the Center for Career Development in December 2005 as the recruiting manager. She holds a BA from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA. Prior to joining Boston University, Heather worked in corporate human resources departments, specifically on the university and college relations programs. With a background in placing students in intern, co-op, and entry level full-time positions, Heather hopes to bridge the gap between students and employers.
Marketing & Communications
Eleanor Cartelli
Associate Director
Eleanor joined Boston University in December 2010 to help with the office’s marketing and communications efforts. Previously, she was associate director of publications and interim director of communications at the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy Studies. She received her BA in religious literature and history from Smith College and her MA in religious studies from the University of Chicago’s Divinity School. In her spare time, Eleanor can most often be found with her nose in a good book, making dinner with every pan in the kitchen, or visiting her family’s farm in Vermont.
Jessica Weed,
Marketing and Communications Specialist
Jessica joined the Center for Career Development in September 2011. Prior to joining the team, she was the Marketing and Communications Manager at Jumpstart, a national early education nonprofit that works with preschool children in low-income neighborhoods to close the achievement gap. Jessica graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern University with her BA in journalism and communications studies, and has plans to pursue her MS in advertising at BU. While in college, Jessica also did several internships and co-ops at Boston-area public relations firms and magazines. When not in the office, Jessica loves to travel abroad, cook, do yoga, read, hang out with her friends and family, and partake in anything pop-culture related.
