Dr. Pincus’ primary research interests include the assessment and treatment of children’s fears and anxieties, and the development and dissemination of evidence based treatments for children and adolescents with anxiety disorders and their families. In addition, other areas of research inquiry include children’s coping with everyday stress, risk and resilience factors affecting the development of child psychopathology, the relationship between sleep disorders and anxiety disorders in youth, and psychological factors affecting children with medical conditions. Her research has been funded by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Dr. Pincus received her B.A. from Brandeis University and her M.A. and Ph.D. from Binghamton University.  She completed her clinical psychology internship training in the Child/Pediatric Specialty Track at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center.  She joined the faculty at Boston University in 1999.
