BU Center for the Humanities Student Awards Ceremony

The BUCH Student Award Ceremony will recognize outstanding work in the humanities by 37 undergraduate and graduate students. After narrating a brief slide show that sums up the Center’s work over the course of the past year, BUCH Director Susan Mizruchi will deliver tributes that describe what is unique to each student’s work. Arianne Chernock, Acting Associate Dean for Undergraduate Academic Programs and Policies, will speak about the place of the Humanities in the College of Arts & Sciences and will present the certificates to each of the undergraduate awardees. Emily Barman, Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences will also speak about the Humanities from her perspective and will present the certificates to each of the graduate awardees.  The ceremony concludes by honoring the incoming cohort of five BUCH Graduate Dissertation Fellows for 2019-2020, a group of distinguished young scholars who are in the final stages of their graduate work and who will participate in next year’s Fellows’ Seminars, together with junior and senior faculty. Faculty and family will be on hand to celebrate all of these accomplishments. A reception follows.
