BU CSA x Wong Fu Presents: The Pursuit of Yappie-ness
Boston University Chinese Students Association is bringing Wong Fu Productions to Boston for our event The Pursuit of Yappie-ness! There will be a video screening of the Wong Fu Productions original series "Yappie," a panel discussion, a Q&A session and a VIP meet and greet. The Yappie series created by Wong Fu Productions is a story about an exploration of cultural identity and racial issues through the perspective of Andrew Yang, a 29-year-old Chinese American software engineer living in CA. Throughout the series, Andrew is faced with new experiences and influences that make him reflect upon his place in society and his invisibility on the diversity canvas as a "Yappie." The mission of this event is to start a conversation about the stereotypes and societal influences that not only affect Asian Americans but the global community as a whole. We want to provide a platform to invoke insightful dialogue surrounding the expectations that we all bear, whether they be from society, peers, or cultural background. This event can be used as a Culture Pass requirement.
