Off to the Races: The 2020 Presidential Primary Field
The field of candidates for the 2020 presidential primary is already getting crowded. Senators Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar, and Kamala Harris have thrown their hat into the ring, along with South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg, Hawaii Representative Tulsi Gabbard--and more to come. Who are these candidates, and why should we care? CGS Associate Professor Tom Whalen will have a discussion and Q&A with students. Whalen is a historian focused on presidential leadership and a frequent media commentator on outlets such as The New York Times, Fox News, The Boston Herald, The Boston Globe, Christian Science Monitor, and many others.
