Habilitation is a tried and true model for working with people with Alzheimer’s disease designed to make the best use of the person’s remaining skills and abilities, create an environment around the person to accommodate their sensory losses, and most importantly, promote positive emotions. Attendees will begin the day by learning the parts of the brain that are most affected by Alzheimer’s, what stops working, and what continues to work late into the disease process.
