Violence Prevention: Guns, Public Health, and Health Care
Violence is a significant—and preventable—public health problem in the United States. This forum will address the risk factors of violence, the importance of promoting prevention over punishment, the impact of police and domestic violence in communities of color, and the contribution of firearms to violence. To prevent violence, we must understand why it is happening, whom it involves, and how the drivers of violence can be addressed. This forum is a step in that direction. Cohosted with Boston University School of Social Work.
